Mount Laurel, NJ — At The Funplex, safety is not just a policy, it is part of the culture. That commitment was recently recognized on a national level when The Funplex received the ICON Award for earning the highest safety audit scores among small amusement facilities participating in the International Ride Operator Certification iROC program through International Ride Training LLC.
The honor ranks The Funplex number one in overall safety performance among participating parks. This milestone was made possible by the dedication of its Rides and Aquatics Team. For the team members who arrive early to inspect rides, carefully monitor attractions, and look out for every guest who walks through the gates, the award represents more than a score. It represents daily discipline, teamwork, and pride in their work.
The Funplex’s Rides and Aquatics Team received both the Safety ICON Award, presented to the top performing facility overall, and the Audit Excellence Award, recognizing placement in the top twenty percent of facilities for safety audit scores.

“Safety is our top priority, and our teams continue to set the benchmark in ride safety,” said Brian Williams, CEO of The Funplex. “Our hard work and commitment stood out among peers, and this recognition is truly earned. These awards highlight the professionalism and dedication our team brings to the organization every day. I’m proud of the work we’ve done and grateful for the example our senior leadership has set for the rest of the team. I congratulate the entire team on this tremendous achievement.”
The celebration continued with individual recognition for Devin Williams, Senior Operations Manager, who was honored with the Best Student Award. This distinction celebrates exceptional performance and mastery within the iROC training program.
The iROC program evaluates facilities through comprehensive safety audits and operational assessments, measuring procedures, documentation, team knowledge, and execution. Earning the highest overall score underscores The Funplex Mount Laurel’s commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for families throughout the region.
In addition to its nationally recognized safety performance, The Funplex is actively investing in park upgrades and improvements designed to enhance the overall guest experience. These updates represent a continued commitment to the families and community members who choose The Funplex for their celebrations, outings, and summer traditions.
For General Manager Michael Baumann, the moment the awards were announced was about more than recognition. It was about community. “When we shared the news with our team, the pride in the room was incredible,” Baumann said. “Safety is a core value here. Our guests trust us with their families, their celebrations, and their memories. We take that responsibility seriously. This award belongs to every team member who shows up each day committed to doing things the right way.”
As The Funplex continues to grow and serve local New Jersey communities, its focus remains clear. Continuous improvement, ongoing training, and maintaining the highest standards of safety ensure that families can focus on what matters most, spending time together and making memories.
